Cleansers to End All Cleansers

Hello everyone! A bit more of some scheduled posting that I'm trying to get done on probably the worst  travel experience ever. I shouldn't say that just yet as I'm waiting for a connecting flight that's been delayed and we might not even have a seat on it. UGH! It's an 'express' plane too, that we're waiting to get on, and I'm afraid that it's going to be a small-jet plane where you can feel every movement of the plane. I think I had full-fledged panic attack on the other flight because of all the turbulence. Ah, who's anxiety city? THIS GIRL. So, totally unplanned segway - one of my favorite things to do when I'm stressed out or just any sort of anxiety starts to creep up, I always love to wash my face. It feels soothing while you do it and afterwards you're left feeling totally refreshed. My favorite part of the entire routine is cleansing. I don't know what it about my skin but it just looooooves a good scrubbing. It never takes to well to foaming or milky cleanser unless some sort of exfoliant is added to the mix. Recently I discovered that there are three cleansers that I am absolutely in love with and I'm not sure if I can picture myself using anything else.

LUSH Ocean Salt Face & Body Scrub | Ocean Salt is like a cocktail for your face. It's got lime, vodka, coconuts, and sea salt to exfoliate the skin and leave it feeling fresh and bright. It smells good and it feels good. You can notice the benefits the second you lift your head from the sink after washing it off. The sea salt isn't too harsh, even for my dry skin because the coconut in it really helps to keep it soft. I've repurchased this maybe half a dozen times and I know I'll continue to because when I'm without it I think my skin weeps, haha.

St. Ives Blemish Control Green Tea Scrub | This scrub is one I came across on a chance happen-stance. I was in Wal-Mart with my family and I saw a small tube of it lying in the $1 bin. I didn't get on so well with the St. Ives Apricot Scrub but saw this was meant for breakouts and calming redness and thought, eh, what the heck? It was only a dollar! I tried describing the texture of this stuff in my July Favorite's video and wasn't so successful at it, haha! It's like a green gel-mousse hybrid that's got little granules of something in it, I'm just not sure what. It feels really smooth and the consistency feels so nice being massaged onto the face. The smell is also amazing, so I love using it in the morning for a pick me up. As for controlling redness and breakouts, I'm happy to report that it slowly but surely works its magic. My skin has cleared up a bit and my cheeks look a bit less red. It's a nice cleanser to have and I'm glad it's working with my skin. Sure it's not instant results but that's better than no results or ... completely breaking out.

Clean & Clear Advantage 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser | I am so, so, so happy to have been introduced to this product by Cassie in one of her Best & Worst of Beauty videos. I can't remember exactly what she said but she sang its praises enough for me to put it on my list of "stuff I need to try" I absolutely love this stuff. It's the first sort of 'medicated' acne-treatment cleanser I've ever tried. It smells a bit like it's medicated but mostly that's masked by a sunblock smell with a bit of mint. I love the scent but I think some of you might not - it doesn't linger though! The consistency is that of most cleansers, again, I'm sort of at a loss of words but you can see it in the picture below. It's also an exfoliating cleanser but such a gentle one. All of it is supposed to help exfoliate the skin, treat pimples and help prevent breakouts and it's amazing! The day after I used this I noticed a difference. My pimples weren't cleared but they were significantly small and looked a lot less like mountainous regions.

These results I get with these cleansers has really encouraged me to wash my face every day, mostly because I know if I keep at it my skin will only get clearer and clearer. It's nice to have products in your skincare arsenal that work even a bit. The routine of it all really helps me feel fresh when I wake up and right before I got to bed. The exfoliaters in each of these aren't to harsh but just enough to feel super relaxing when you're massaging your face and that really helps me calm down when I'm feeling anxious. If only there was someway I can get one of these cleansers out of my luggage and spend the entire flight just washing my face, haha!
 What's your end-all cleanser?

Can You Ever Have Fuchsia in Excess?

Hello everyone, from gosh knows how many miles of the ground! I'm currently sitting on the most turbulent plane (seriously, I'm a little scared), ears popped, with no food in my belly and on my way to Canada! So I thought this would be the perfect time to write up a post on the newest member of my lipstick collection. I saw this beaut while browsing in Sehpora - well, I didn't see the lipstick, just the wonderful ad with a gorgeous woman and her even more gorgeous lip color. It was bright, it was fuchsia, and I needed it. I didn't get it when I automatically saw it (good little beauty blogger *pats head*) and I didn't get it when I saw it the few times after that. Sometimes it was in stock, but mostly I didn't get it because it was sold out. Then one day I find myself in a shiny new (to me) mall in Jersey with a 10% off coupon. I couldn't resist at that point. I made a beeline for the YSL section, nabbed the color and I'm now the proud owner of YSL's Rouge Volupte Shine in No. 5 Fuchsia in Excess

I'm no stranger to YSL's Rouge Volupte line of lipsticks - they're the ones I usually treat myself to when I've got a coupon and a craving for one (or my boyfriend decides to be generous on Valentine's Day, haha) You can check out the review of the other two over here. The packaging of Fuchsia in Excess is gorgeous with the gold throughout all of it. I love the detail on the center with logo and the color of the lipstick in the band. I always appreciate little details on the outside packaging that let you know the color of the product inside - saves so much time when you're digging through to find the one you need. The formula of this lipstick is outstanding, which should be expected when paying $30 for a lipstick. It just glides on the lips without accentuating any flaky or dry areas. The formula is quite moisturizing and the staying power is actually a bit better than the other two I've had. A little may transfer when you eat or drink, but the color still stays vibrant. It's semi-opaque on the lips and leaves a shiny finish - nothing too glossy. Fuchsia in Excess is almost a berry toned fuchsia. It looks bright but not too bright and I feel like I'll be able to wear this color any time in any season. It looks great when I wear my most recent gold/purple eyeliner combo and stunning with a neutral eye.

So at $30 a pop it's def. one of those lipsticks that you 'treat' yourself to but with the amazing pigmentation, quality, and array of colors, they'll lipsticks worth investing in!

Empties #03

Empties posts/videos are the most rewarding kinds. You're using up products you've got in your stash and then you get to unceremoniously dump then in the garbage - a whole big bag of trash. Now, I haven't done an Empties post since March so you can imagine just how much I've collected to share with you all. I've also included a lot of products that weren't beauty related but have been a hilariously obsessive part of my life! My Sephora bag was so full of products that my closet door couldn't fully shut anymore. I also had a bunch of Bath & Body works candles that I burnt through, so they couldn't fit into the bag and needed to be stacked on the shelf! It's been crazy, haha! It felt so good to finally get rid of this mess and start fresh with an empty 'empties' bag, haha! This video is a bit longer than my usually ones so sit back, relax, and enjoy me getting frustrated with a few emptied products! ;)

What product have you used up recently?

Tipsy on Tarte

Coral is everyone's best friend in the summer season, is it not? Well it's def. mine and it def. was last year! In the summer of 2012 everyone bat-crazy with coral shadows, liners, and blushers. One of the most amazing coral blushers that I came across was Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy. Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blushes are the bees knees in every aspect. I got mine at Sephora for $28 and it'll honestly last you forever! The packaging is simple, yet quirky with their logo printed on the top and the individualized color. I love that about their blushes - each blush compact represents the shade of the blush inside so it's a no brainer when you go looking for one! If you'd like to see my more in-depth review on these blushes you can check out my review on Natural Beauty (which is what's called, a complete natural beauty!) over here. Actually, head on over there to read about the blush and I'll just reiterate cause this formula of blush needs to be praised. The pigmentation of Tipsy is SUPER, well, pigmented, haha! You need the lightest of taps with your brush to get a really nice color. It's easy to overdue because of the crazy pigmentation, but the good news is it's also quite blend able - not to the point where you blend everything away, but it blends to look more natural. Am I making any sense at all? Probably not, but we'll move onto the shade. Tipsy is the perfect coral shade. I thought it might lean more orange since the packaging is totally orange, but it's the perfect blend of orange and pink tones. It's not a hard blush to pull off even though it may seem a bit intimidating. It looks great with natural looks and has always been the greatest compliment to more colorful eye looks, which sounds weird, because it's color on color, but trust me, it works! I managed to include a cheek swatch (that doesn't sound right, haha) to show you how it blends and looks on the face. Plus, I'm wearing some ridiculous gold and purple liner combos, and it still looks ah-smha-zing! (what?! haha, I'm sorry, it's the caffeine talking) I love having this color in my collection and it's def. worth looking into!

FOTD | Part of Your World

Hey everyone! So today is Sunday (again with notifying you the days of the week *face palm*) and I'm not coming at you with a post about another Best In Beauty competition video. Unfortunately, I was eliminated last week and of course I'm a bit bitter, haha, not going to lie, but I know I shouldn't be. I just wanted to take this few little seconds to thank you ALL for your support in the competition. You have no idea how much it has meant to me to get this sort of support from my fellow bloggers, vloggers, and my wonderful readers. I really couldn't have done it without you guys (I really couldn't have, haha, couldn't vote for myself that many times) I stayed at the top for so long thanks to you guys! I said it in every video and post, but I appreciate all the time you took to watch my video, head on over to Jen's channel and place your votes. It really meant the world to me and made my day. I'll still be creating content on my channel. Just because I'm out of the competition doesn't mean I'm going to stop making videos, haha. Getting eliminated and all your support has only encouraged me to keep getting better at it!

Okay, so enough cheese on a stick (I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH *bursts into tears*) I've got a super fun FOTD to share with you all! If you've been keeping up with some posts and videos you'll know that I've got my hands on most of the Ariel Disney Collection by Sephora. The Part of Your World Quad (which I reviewed here) was one of those makeup bits I bought because it looked pwetty *__* The colors are gorgeous but as far as putting them together, I was stumped! So I've finally put together a look I'm more than happy with! It's very mermaid-esque and really makes your eyes pop! Since there was a lot of color going on I made sure to make the rest of my makeup soft pinks and corals! I love the look and had so much fun putting it together so I hope you guys enjoy it, too!
What do you think?
