Two Faced!

Hahahaha, I'm sorry you guys have to see me like this. I'm in the middle of drying my nails and waiting to wash my brushes. I got off work super early today and off course everyone made plans and isn't home. It's all been thunder storming for the passed 3 hours and I though heck, why not try a smokey eye? You have nothing better to do! So now you're looking at the picture and going .... WHAT HAPPENED? Haha, I started my own smokey eye with a new eye shadow I bought on the one eye because I didn't really feel like doing both. I finished one look and then said ... well now let's try a second one I like and see how it goes! The funny thing is I'm wearing foundation on only half my face (can you tell which?!) because in that moment I felt that that eye needed flawless skin. Yeah, I'm not exactly sure how my mind works either. I thought this would just be a fun post to put up and hopefully make you guys laugh! The smokey eyes actually came out really awesome (for my first tries!) on their own, hahaha. I'm off to wash my brushes, grab some tea, watch So You Think You Can Dance, read and then announce the winner of my giveaway (only 5 more hours left!) at 12:05 A.M. Notice how I never said I was washing this off? Ha! Talk to you guys super soon!

Random Rambly Rant: Hooded Eyelids & FOTD

Apologies for no actual beauty content on the blog at the moment. I swear I have products that I am dying to review you for you guys, as well as other miscellaneous posts. Which is actually what brings me to this post! I was trying to snap a picture of my make up today because I thought it reminded me of a bronzed, sunset look (beauty girls, we can buy and use the products but have the worst difficulty describing it). Anyway, I wanted to do a FOTD because I don't do those too often, but I couldn't get my eye make up to show up! After blogging for this short amount of time I have come to the realization that my eyelids are indeed hooded which makes it super difficult to showcase my eye look's without looking down at the floor! I never understood why I could never see my eye make up unless I put my head all the way back and then proceeded to look in the mirror.

I did manage to slightly capture the eye make up along with the rest of my face so I decided I'd also do a FOTD :)

What I'm wearing:
  • Dr. Jart++ Waterfuse BB Cream
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Urban Decay Half Baked all across the lid and lower lashline
  • Urban Decay Toasted on the outer third of the lid atop the Half Baked and then into the crease
  • Urban Decay Virgin in the inner corner and brow highlight
  • Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes 001 upperlashline and then smudged a bit, then on the water line
  • M.A.C. Zoom Fast Black Lash
  • NARS Laguna Bronzer
  • NARS Orgasm
  • Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain in Honey
That's all! Easy peasy golden eye look (: I love to use the gold and purply eye color to make my blues eyes pop more. Unfortunately the eyeshadow colors get really lost when I open my eyes!

Do any of you also have hooded lids? What are your tips & tricks to get your eye make up to pop and not just get hide away? I'd love to hear any tips you may have as this is starting to become a tad frustrating!

Rose Jam Bubbles, Crazy Dance Moms, & A Warm Cup O' Tea

Evening to all where evening does apply. I come to you today with a different type of post. I had my first beach outing today and what do I get? Massive sleepies and a never ending head ache. I've been tossing and turning in my bed and I can't seem to get any better. Even Advil doesn't seem to kill the monster. I don't have the energy in me to post a review or put on any make up for a look I really want to do, so I hope you don't mind if I just write about my evening.

In the winter time during school I'd always run a bath to cure any stuffiness or headache that seemed to pop up out of the blue. I figured it couldn't hurt to just lie in some warm water and fluffy bubbles that smelled of sweet Rose Jam. It helped me relax a lot! If I was old enough to drink I'm sure some wine would have been lovely. Instead I opted to indulge in my favorite guilty pleasure, Dance Moms. Such a nutty show! It's really fun for me to watch as a dancer who sees cuckoo banana mom's like this in the studio all the time! Only perhaps not to their certain level of cuckoo. With the lights off, no candles, the sweet smell of bubbles and the yapping of the crazy mom's, I was starting to feel better. My headache is still not completely gone but I am now snuggled in my covers with a nice cup o' tea and watching The Glee Project which is almost better than the show itself. I hope you are all having a lovely evening, one a tad better than mine! I shall be back to posting tomorrow (hopefully :) )

[EDIT: So I've just had to empty my entire closet to accommodate a constructor who's ideal time to come is 10 P.M. I hope you are all now having a much, much better evening!]

Random Ramblings: I'm off to Boston!

I'm so excited, I can just pee my pants! Well no, I can't because I honestly don't know where the bathroom on this train is! Yes, I'm already boarded, seated, and on my way to Boston! I've had quite a morning let me tell you. But first (because I know my story will be long) I have put up a poll on the right hand corner to let you guys and gals vote on what you'd like the prize of my giveaway to be! You can vote for whichever ones you like! I shall be gone until Monday but in the mean time I do have a special series of posts lined up from today until Monday. I hope you guys enjoy those! If you want you can follow me on twitter: @jkruuu or instagram: jkruuu to keep up with strange goings on that happen around me! I'll still be able to reply to your comments and talk to you guys! :) So without further ado, if you'd like to hear the story of my morning read on...

Story Time
First off, express buses to Manhattan were not meant to carry my fat and stout luggage and no one seemed to want to help a poor, innocent girl with her very heavy bags. No matter, I situated on the bus and listened to "adventure" music. Then came the daunting task of getting off the bus with this stupid fat man (That's what I've dubbed my luggage). I take about 5 minutes to get off the bus because the doors are so narrow and my shorts are riding up in all the wrong places!!! I finally get off the bus and now have to walk a few blocks to the train station.

My train was scheduled to leave at 8:30 am and I got there at 8, printed my tickets (they look so cool!) and freaked out. I couldn't read the stupid thing! What train cart am I in? Which seat is mine? How will I know what gate to board on?! It didn't say anything at all! And now I'm really craving coffee at this point! So I walk up to Dunkin' Donuts and as soon as I get my coffee my track number is listed on the board and I'm off with my fat man, laptop, and purse.

Then, lo and behold, as soon as I get everything situated to fit nicely and not feel so heavy I get asked to step off the line and am told that "you were selected for random screening." Are you joking?! I am carrying way to many things and this stinkin' coffee is leaking out of it's cup and you want me to put all of it on this tray so you can scan it and then tell me what I already know which is that there is nothing lethal in my bag! If that wasn't bad enough, the officers wouldn't even help me lift the fat man onto the table or take it down for that matter! So now I'm on the escalator, FINALLY about to board and my laptop crashes to the ground. My throat is hoarse and I'm apologizing left and right for I don't even understand what. I still had no idea which train car I was to board or even where my seat would be. I asked a nice man (who was no doubt frightened when I approached him) and he politely told me that I just get into any train car and take a seat. So I did this and in 20 seconds managed to spill my coffee, hit an old lady, and bump my head.

Thankfully everything is going well now. I'm just sitting in my comfy seat with no one sitting next to me which is absolutely lovely. I can't wait to see Julia in about 4 hours! I'm so excited that I wish I were already there! This train really is comfortable although looking around I still have no clue where the bathroom is...

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Random Ramblings | Indie Nail Polishes

Indie Nail Polishes are becoming quite the sensation in the land of nail polish lovers. For good reason too! Some of these polishes are absolutely breath taking! If you're not sure what Indie Polishes are they are nail polishes that arae made by smaller businesses that are usually sold through e-mail or facebook or etsy shops. A lot of the time these polishes are made holographic or jam packed with glitters of various shapes, sizes, and colors! These polishes are becoming such a hit that the producers of these polishes barely have time to keep up with their orders!

I am very intrigued by a lot of these brands and hope to get my hands on a couple of different brands! Some of these polish creators are so creative and innovative. I'm a sucker for anything that is well made, and by hand! Especially if the quality is really good!

I think I first started noticing these indie brands when Leesha from xSparkage tweeted a picture of an awesome nail polish she got from Lynnderella. I slowly started searching up more Indie Brands and "Franken-makers" as they are sometimes called.

I'm excited to be ordering some soon! Hopefully in the next month when the funds become available! Here are some of the brands I have my eye on! Definitely check these out!

Have any of you ever ordered from an Indie Polish brand? Who are some of your favorite makers? Are you thinking about getting any now? :)
