My Make-Up Organization + Tips

I really pride myself on my ability to organize even the tiniest of things. When I found out I was getting a new closet built I kept organizing my make up in mind A LOT. I used to just keep it all thrown in a basket and let me tell you, I had headaches over how unorganized it is! There's not much I can say about the way organizing my make up as the pictures make it self explanatory. What I can do is give you some tips for general ways to store your make up!

The Mod Mermaid's Tips:

• Think about it first. How do you want to separate different parts (i.e. eyeshadows, lipsticks, eyeliner, morning skincare)? This will make it easier to figure out how and where you want to store it.
• Think about space. Where can you physically store your collection? Where will it be easiest for you to access?
• Find containers or boxes. Anything that will nice fit your make up. Sometimes palettes come with nice boxes that you just can't throw out so use them to store something! Tupperware is also good for storing things! Jewelry drawers are also small enough to store some of your lippies, eyeshadow singles or liners & mascara!
• The Container Store is you best friend. This is where I bought all the plastic containers you will see that come in different shapes and sizes. These really make organizing and seperating a breeze as they easily fit into drawers! I know it's not convenient for everyone but look for office supply storage or kitchen utensil storage anywhere like Target, Walmart or Stop N' Shop.

Those are some general tips! After thinking about storage, space and getting containers the rest of the organizing is up to you and your personal tastes! Now on to the the way I store everything! This will be mostly picture heavy and if you have any questions anything you see, feel free to ask!

This is a section of my closet and the drawers inside the mint colored box are the four ones I use to store my make-up and miscellaneous sprays & candles. The shelves were a tad deep so I got them made into drawers that slide all the way out for easier access.

A closer look!

This is the highest drawer. I keep my all my candles, fragrance mists, room sprays, and wallflower plug ins.

A majority of my make up is housed on the second shelf down. Everything is separated into different categories (i.e. lipsticks, cheek products, face products, etc ...)

This is a very random drawer. I keep my nail polishes, remover, and jewelry here. As well as my glittered jars and anything in them as they didn't fit in the above one.

This last drawer houses my make up brushes, make up palettes, hand creams, perfumes and random things that happened to get put in the UD 15th Anniversary felt box.
