Blogmas Day 8 | Hanukkah Takeover! (Tutorial)

These Blogmas posts are sponsored by this snow effect. I am determined to have it be included in a majority of the photos! So Blogmas Day 8, and a big Happy Hanukkah to you all! Regardless of what you celebrate, you can still be happy on/during Hanukkah! Don't let my cute little Santa hat fool you (and my little sister photo bombing scare you!) this is going to be a straight up Hanukkah tutorial with the silver and blue! I didn't have a specific look in mind, but this went smokey and classy (at least I like to think, haha!) It was also super simple and easy to do! It's a look I can see anyone wear out at night to dinner with family or friends. It ended up being super wearable, go figure! My biggest inspiration for this tutorial was that I got my eyebrows done. I felt like a fresh canvas that needed to be painted on! If you're interested to see how to recreate this look, scroll on down!

How to be your most festive for Hanukkah:
Step 1  Do your foundation, concealer, and powder as you see fit! I'm still loving my Dr. Jart+ BB Cream as it's the only one that doesn't dry out my skin! Then just scrub your lips and apply your favorite lip balm so they're ready for lippies at the end!
Step 2 Prep your eyelids with your eye primer of choice. I used NARS Smudgeproof Base Primer. Next, take a silvery cream color and apply that all over your eye lid. Blend it out with your finger and blend it a bit up into your crease. I used NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Pots N' Pans.
Step 3 Take a silver eyeshadow shade that isn't too dark, as it might start to look a bit grey, onto a flat eye shadow brush! Pat that all over your eye lid and bring it slightly into your crease. I used one of the silver shades from the Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette.
Step 4 On an ever so fluffy crease brush pick up a shimmering dark blue with a slight silver/grey tinge to it. If you don't have one like that use any blue shade you feel you'll be able to smoke out! Circle that onto the outer third of your eye lid and slowly start bringing it into your crease. Stop at about the inner third of your eye lid! I used MAC Showgirl (it was a limited edition shade, I'm sorry!).
Step 5 Grab your favorite pencil brush and pick up that same silver shadow you used. Apply that to the inner two/thirds of your lower lash line. After that, on the same brush, pick up some of the same blue shade and apply it to the outer third of your lower lash line. Blend it into the silver for an even smokier look!
Step 6 I thought I was going to leave it at the shadows considering how dark the blue was but we definitely need some sassy definition! Use a gel liner to line just your upper lash line; thinner at the inner corner and thicker towards the outer corner. If you're feeling really adventurous, wing it out! I used MAC Blacktrack gel eyeliner.
Step 7 Take a black pencil liner and apply it to your water lines; upper and lower! I used Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 0L.
Step 8 Last thing for the eyes! Grab your most favorite black mascara and apply it to your lovely lashes as you see fit. I used two coats of Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express.
Step 9 Apply your favorite bronzer to the hollows of your cheeks and temples to contour. Keep it natural! You don't want your grandma schvitzing at the dinner table because your face looks unusually orange! Take a plum colored blush (any of your favorites!) and apply that to the apples of your cheeks and blend a little out towards your temples. Then, finish off your cheeks with a shimmering highlight to give yourself a fresh faced look! I used NARS Laguna Bronzer, L'Oreal Magic  Smooth Souffle Blush in Plume, and NARS Miss Liberty Highlighter.
Step 10 Apply any beige nude you have on hand and top it off with a shimmering lip gloss. I used MAC Pure Zen and MAC Phiff! (again, sorry that these were limited edition, but they're pretty dupeable colors!)
Step 11 Now just put on your yarmluke, cause it's time for Hanukkah!

Hope you all enjoyed, and enjoy your first night of Hanukkah! You've got eight whole nights to try out this look!
