I'll Have the "Usual" || #FOTD

• Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner in Black • Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil in Fairytale • Benefit gimmeBrow • Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Natural Beauty • MAC Marilyn Monroe Love Goddess Lipstick

Everyone has their "go to" look. The look they'll always slap on their face because it's the easiest or makes them feel the most beautifullest (not grammatically correct but if you ever hear me talk in real life, this is how I emphasize, haha) For some it's a little shadow all over the lid, mascara, and lip gloss. For others it's full out foundation, liner, brows, you know, the whole shebang. My go to look has always been liquid eye liner, bold lips, and natural looking red cheeks. Ever since high school this has been the look I go to because it makes me feel pretty, put together, and, most importantly, comfortable. It makes me less self conscious about the actual redness in my cheeks and defines my eyes which are my favorite feature. I still don't know why I'm so comfortable and prefer to wear bright reds and pinks and fuchsias, but I do. Maybe because it makes me want to smile more, haha.

The thing with go to looks is that it's all about the comfort. The reason you always manage to go back to it is because it's what makes you feel most you and it's the look you're not checking up on in the mirror every five seconds. So now I want to know ...

What's your go to look?

Bright FOTD & My Latest Accessories

Gah, my shnozz is so profoundly Jewish sometimes it hurts me. Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday to you all, although my Tuesday's aren't quite so jolly as I'm in class from 8 AM - 5:30 PM. Fun times, but seriously, never hire me to create your school schedule. You will hate me forever. Today I thought I'd post a little FOTD for you all. Yesterday was my first time out of the house since Thursday (aside from having to go to the hospital/orthopedics) On Thursday, last week, I was riding my new Penny Board and being a little cocky I ended up flying over a speed bump, off my board, and straight onto my ankle. It's sprained pretty good and now I've got some groovy new accesories to add to my daily wear; crutchs and a big ol' ugly boot. I've already swapped the boot for a sturdy ankle wrap. It's gotten a bit better but it's still quite bruised (and by quite, I mean super bruised) and a little hard to walk on so I'm still in need of crutches. They're quite embarassing. I don't enjoy the attention that comes with hopping from class to class and building to building. Makes me want to hide away in a shell like a turtle.

Anyway, I think I've digressed a bit. Yesterday I ended up going out with my mom to go and get my ankle wrap before we went to see my sister model on the catwalk at a Prom Expo. I was gonna be out and about in the public eye, wobbling around on crutches, so I wasn't about to miss the oprrotunity to wear some make up. I kept the face make up simple with the Urban Decay Naked Beauty Balm as a base. Then Rimmel's Wake Me Up Concealer, under my eyes and on a few spots. I set all of that with Rimmel's Stay Matte Transluscent Powder. For cheeks I whipped out my handy dandy NARS One Night Stand Blush Palette and used Goulue on the apples of my cheeks. I added a bit of highlight to the tops of my cheeks with MAC's Soft and Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish. I also patted some of that onto my eyelids. For eyes, I used Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Liner in black to line my eyes and gave them little flicks for a teeny weeny cat eye. Hooray, because they came out even :D Lastly, the piece de resistance, as without many of my looks, the lipstick. I pulled out MAC's Candy Yum Yum because the weather outside was starting to feel like spring and I wanted to embrace it whilst it was here!

So that's it for my FOTD and my little update on what's been going on in my life, haha. I'm really looking forward to the warm weather but it's such a shame that I'm gonna spend most of it in doors. Oh well, spring is on it's way, I'm healing, and that's all that matters. Hope you guys are experiencing similarly beautiful weather!

FOTD | Part of Your World

Hey everyone! So today is Sunday (again with notifying you the days of the week *face palm*) and I'm not coming at you with a post about another Best In Beauty competition video. Unfortunately, I was eliminated last week and of course I'm a bit bitter, haha, not going to lie, but I know I shouldn't be. I just wanted to take this few little seconds to thank you ALL for your support in the competition. You have no idea how much it has meant to me to get this sort of support from my fellow bloggers, vloggers, and my wonderful readers. I really couldn't have done it without you guys (I really couldn't have, haha, couldn't vote for myself that many times) I stayed at the top for so long thanks to you guys! I said it in every video and post, but I appreciate all the time you took to watch my video, head on over to Jen's channel and place your votes. It really meant the world to me and made my day. I'll still be creating content on my channel. Just because I'm out of the competition doesn't mean I'm going to stop making videos, haha. Getting eliminated and all your support has only encouraged me to keep getting better at it!

Okay, so enough cheese on a stick (I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH *bursts into tears*) I've got a super fun FOTD to share with you all! If you've been keeping up with some posts and videos you'll know that I've got my hands on most of the Ariel Disney Collection by Sephora. The Part of Your World Quad (which I reviewed here) was one of those makeup bits I bought because it looked pwetty *__* The colors are gorgeous but as far as putting them together, I was stumped! So I've finally put together a look I'm more than happy with! It's very mermaid-esque and really makes your eyes pop! Since there was a lot of color going on I made sure to make the rest of my makeup soft pinks and corals! I love the look and had so much fun putting it together so I hope you guys enjoy it, too!
What do you think?

FOTD | Red, White & Blue

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Hello everyone and Happy 4th of July to all my lovely American readers (there are a few of you, aren't there?! haha) You know what? Happy 4th of July to you all! If it hadn't been for Americans declaring their freedom from England all those years ago ... I'd probably have a British accent. DANG IT. I hope you all enjoy your day wether you're having a BBQ, spending your day at the beach or just patiently waiting for the fireworks! I'll be on my way to Pennsylvania this morning to watch my sister compete in a dance competition. Exciting stuff, really it is =_+. Either way, I thought I'd share my partiotic make up with you all. I did one last year as well, but this one is a bit more wearable! I used NARS Smudge Proof Primer and NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Pots n' Pans as a base for a silver Coastal Scents eyeshadow. It was from the 88 Shimmer Palette so it doesn't have a name but it's just your average silver eye shadow. I then mixed a bright red with a cranberry red from that same Coastal Scents palette and applied that under my lower lash line. For the 'blue' in red, white and blue, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use a blue eyeliner. I used Stila's Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Liner in Curacoa and lined my upper lash line semi-thickly without flaring it out. I had the end of the blue liner meet the red eyeshadow to close the lines. Then to make my eyes look bigger I added MAC Fascinating Eye Khol, which is a stark white color, on my water line and then topped of my lashes with Make Up For Ever's Smokey Extravaganza Mascara. As for my face I just used Bobbi Brown's Eye Brightener (which is seriously amazing stuff for under your eyeballs) and then Urban Decay's Naked Skin Foundation. I probably need to wear a more high coverage foundation because I am breaking out everywhere!! but in the summer I'm just not about that life. It'd melt off my face, haha! Lastly, for cheeks, I used Tarte's Natural Beauty Blush (reviewed here, seriously it's SO GOOD) and topped my cheek bones with Benefit's Watts Up highligher (I dislike it so very much, reviewed right here when I had the full size. Didn't like it then but I felt the need to use up my sample :/) Oh! & almost forget my lips! The 4th of July is the perfect time to whip out a red lip so I used my Cover Girl Lip Perfection lipstick in Hot.
How are you showing your patriotic pride today?

FOTD | La-la-lavender

Happy hump day! We're so close to the weekend I can almost taste it! I have a quick FOTD post to share with you all. I took the theme of lavender/purple and just ran with it. This is actually a look I wore last thursday to class. I rediscovered an Urban Decay eyeshadow that I just lusted after for the longest time, bought it (last year!) and never touched again. It's Urban Decay's Fishnet eyeshadow, a purply-pink duo chrome eyeshadow that's very reminiscent of MAC's Star N' Rockets. I put this all over my lid and then just blended out the edges a bit with a clean fluffy brush, my Sigma E40 Tapered Blending. I was going to add a neutral blending color but thought that would darken the purple a bit. Then I lined my upper and lower lash lines with Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 0L. It was a late class and I was feeling so lazy so that was as much definition to my eye that I could manage, LOL. I can't quite remember what mascara I used but it was probably the last little bit of my Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express! For the cheeks I popped on some Hervana Blush by Benefit. I know purple isn't a color you think of when you think 'natural makeup' but everything was so soft looking that I didn't want to overpower the rest of my face. Last but not least I grabbed my MAC Pink Popcorn lipstick (it was limited edition, I forget from which collection :/). Pink Popcorn is a pinky lavender color that looks a lot more wearable than it sounds and is AWESOME to wear in the spring (bring on pastel overload ;) )!

What was your FOTD? :)

FOTD: The Classic

Hey, all! I'm here to share my face for the day as it's a look that makes me feel very classically pretty! I say 'classically' because I feel like black liquid liner with a bit of wing and bold, red lips are classic! This used to be my 'go to' look when I was in high school. It was an art school, so this was sort of tame, haha! I had also perfected my wing but for some reason I seem to have become a little rusty with it! I dislike that college has made me play/experiment less with my make up. I go more for the 'no make up' make up looks now, which I love, but I miss wearing my bold colored lippies and black liner! So today, since I'm just hanging with Rico Suave, I thought I'd go back to my old ways and make myself comfortable wearing this look again! I also spiced it up a bit (if you can call it that, haha!) by adding some super neutral shades to even out the skin on my eye lids and a soft, yet defined crease. I feel quite pretty right now and with my red and white polka dotted headband I feel very "fifties"; my favorite era!

Here's what I used:
  • Dr. Jart ++ Beauty Balm
  • L'Oreal Magic Lumi Concealer/Corrector
  • MAC MSF Natural in Medium
  • Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (Walk of Shame all over the lid, Venus underneath the brown bone, Naked 2 softly in the crease)
  • Sephora Long Lasting Liquid Liner in Black
  • MAC Fleur Power Blush
  • MAC MSF in Soft & Gentle
  • MAC Redd lip liner
  • MAC Lady Bug lipstick
Let me know what you think! I'd also love to know what your 'go to' make up looks are! What make up looks make you feel at your most pretty? :)

FOTD: Got A Secret; Can You Keep It? (ft. MAC Love Goddess)

Welcome to Fall everyone! Break out your reds, raspberries, and black currant lippies! I sure have ;) Today I have a look that I recreated from the ever so wonderful TanyaBurr. I seriously love her tutorials, she's very clear and her looks are always wearable. This is the one from her Pretty Little Liars Hanna tutorial. I just swapped out her natural pink lip for this wam-bam-thank-you-ma'am lip from MAC's Marilyn Monroe Collection. You can find the video right over here if you'd like to see how she did this look! I'll still list what I used all over my face! :)
  • Dr. Jarrt ++ Waterfuse BB Cream
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette Shadow in Virgin
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette Shadow in Buck
  • MAC Eye Khol in Smolder
  • Maybelline Falsies Volume Express
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Blonde
  • NARS Laguna Bronzer
and last but certainly not least
  • MAC Lipstick in Love Goddess
What do you guys think? Apologies for various breakouts on my face :/

FOTD & OOTD: A Weapon of Massive Consumption

"And I am a weapon of massive consumption and it's not my fault it's how I'm programmed to function..."
-Lily Allen The Fear

This song actually has nothing to do with my face make up ... or my outfit. I was just listening to the song and this line came up and I thought "How funny and true for me!" And that is how a blog post title is born! *tada* Anywho on to my FOTD & OOTD. Now, bare with me I still don't have anyone to take my photos for me and I am really inept with my bulky camera from too far away (the darn thing never focuses properly!) So please excuse the wonky outfit pictures, the huge camera wrapped around my arm and the huge flash. Other than that, I hope you enjoy! I felt super confident walking on the streets with this make up and outfit. It made me look and feel good :)

On my face:

  • M.A.C. Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer (NW 15)
  • MakeUp Forever HD Powder
  • Sephora Collection Long Lasting Eye Liner (Black)
  • M.A.C. Powerpoint (So There Jade)
  • M.A.C. Zoom Fast Black Lash Mascara
  • Benefit's Hervana Blush
  • *not in picture* M.A.C. Flamingo Lipstick

What I'm wearing:

Top: Abercrombie & Fitch

Hope you guys enjoyed! :)

Random Rambly Rant: Hooded Eyelids & FOTD

Apologies for no actual beauty content on the blog at the moment. I swear I have products that I am dying to review you for you guys, as well as other miscellaneous posts. Which is actually what brings me to this post! I was trying to snap a picture of my make up today because I thought it reminded me of a bronzed, sunset look (beauty girls, we can buy and use the products but have the worst difficulty describing it). Anyway, I wanted to do a FOTD because I don't do those too often, but I couldn't get my eye make up to show up! After blogging for this short amount of time I have come to the realization that my eyelids are indeed hooded which makes it super difficult to showcase my eye look's without looking down at the floor! I never understood why I could never see my eye make up unless I put my head all the way back and then proceeded to look in the mirror.

I did manage to slightly capture the eye make up along with the rest of my face so I decided I'd also do a FOTD :)

What I'm wearing:
  • Dr. Jart++ Waterfuse BB Cream
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Urban Decay Half Baked all across the lid and lower lashline
  • Urban Decay Toasted on the outer third of the lid atop the Half Baked and then into the crease
  • Urban Decay Virgin in the inner corner and brow highlight
  • Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes 001 upperlashline and then smudged a bit, then on the water line
  • M.A.C. Zoom Fast Black Lash
  • NARS Laguna Bronzer
  • NARS Orgasm
  • Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain in Honey
That's all! Easy peasy golden eye look (: I love to use the gold and purply eye color to make my blues eyes pop more. Unfortunately the eyeshadow colors get really lost when I open my eyes!

Do any of you also have hooded lids? What are your tips & tricks to get your eye make up to pop and not just get hide away? I'd love to hear any tips you may have as this is starting to become a tad frustrating!

FOTD: Oh So Natural

June = Summer time. Looking outside my window every morning I think, huh? what? summer? I can't see it. It's been rainy and chilly for the past two days. In the morning before work I'm usually too tired to attempt colorful eye looks and when the weather looks dreary I can't seem to muster up anything BUT a natural look.

I'm just going to list the products and how I used them below. It's a lot easier to get through without all my tangents, haha!

- Dr. Jart ++ BB Cream as a tinted moisturizer to clear up my redness
- Urban Decay Primer Potion all over the lids up to the brow
- Urban Decay Buck from the Naked Palette all over the lid and teensy bit into the crease
- Urban Decay Toasted from the Naked Palette into the crease and then blended out super lightly up towards the brow
- Urban Decay Virgin from the Naked Palette as a highlight underneath my brow and then in the inner corners
- M.A.C.'s Eye Khol in Prunella in the water liner and tightlining, as well.
- NARS Orgasm blush on the apples of my cheeks and then blended out towards my temples
- M.A.C.'s MSF Soft & Gentle on the cheek bones to add a little, somethin' somethin' ;)
- Revlon Just Kissable Stain in Honey all over mah smackers!

I really like this look. It was one that I've never done before and I like how it turned out! This may be my new 'go to natural' look when I don't feel like putting on gel/liquid eyeliner, but don't want to go out bare faced.

Hope you guys enjoyed!

FOTD: Everyday Look

I see a lot of other beauty blogs post FOTD's (Face of the Day) and I thought it'd be fun if I did one as well! This is my sort of everyday make-up when I don't feel like wearing eye shadow. I applied M.A.C. Fluidline Gel Eyeliner in Blacktrack to the upper lash line; thin at the inner corners than thicker towards the outercorners. I always like to wing my eyeliner out, even a tiny bit.

Oh, before that I applied my Dr. Jart++ BB Cream all over my face. It left my skin dewey and natural looking which I like. You'll soon see that I like my make-up to look really natural :)

After the BB Cream and eyeliner, I applied NYX Cream Blush in Glow with a stippling brush. I concentrated most of it on the apples and then blended it out towards my temple. For some highlight, I used M.A.C.'s MSF in Soft & Gentle on my cheek bones. I love, love, love it! I didn't want to go too bold and bodacious with my lip because I wasn't really in the mood, but I still wanted a little color. So I took my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Stain in Sweetheart and literally just dab, dab, dabbed it onto my lips. So it just barely gave it a tint of color.

Let me know if you guys like the FOTD's. I'll probably continue to do more when I feel my make up is up for being captured. Be sure to link me in the comments to some of your FOTD's if you have them! I'd love to gain some inspiration :)
