FOTD: The Classic

Hey, all! I'm here to share my face for the day as it's a look that makes me feel very classically pretty! I say 'classically' because I feel like black liquid liner with a bit of wing and bold, red lips are classic! This used to be my 'go to' look when I was in high school. It was an art school, so this was sort of tame, haha! I had also perfected my wing but for some reason I seem to have become a little rusty with it! I dislike that college has made me play/experiment less with my make up. I go more for the 'no make up' make up looks now, which I love, but I miss wearing my bold colored lippies and black liner! So today, since I'm just hanging with Rico Suave, I thought I'd go back to my old ways and make myself comfortable wearing this look again! I also spiced it up a bit (if you can call it that, haha!) by adding some super neutral shades to even out the skin on my eye lids and a soft, yet defined crease. I feel quite pretty right now and with my red and white polka dotted headband I feel very "fifties"; my favorite era!

Here's what I used:
  • Dr. Jart ++ Beauty Balm
  • L'Oreal Magic Lumi Concealer/Corrector
  • MAC MSF Natural in Medium
  • Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (Walk of Shame all over the lid, Venus underneath the brown bone, Naked 2 softly in the crease)
  • Sephora Long Lasting Liquid Liner in Black
  • MAC Fleur Power Blush
  • MAC MSF in Soft & Gentle
  • MAC Redd lip liner
  • MAC Lady Bug lipstick
Let me know what you think! I'd also love to know what your 'go to' make up looks are! What make up looks make you feel at your most pretty? :)

  4. I really love this :) It's so pretty! I think I might try to recreate this sometime soon. I wish I was awake enough when I went to work to do my upper eyeliner but sadly, 5am is not any sort of time to try and perfect this!x

    1. Thanks, Melissa! You could totally do this with a gel liner and get the same effect! It's a lot easier to use at 5 am, I think :)

  7. I love the classic look and you definitely did it perfectly! I want to try the MAC Fleur Power blush, especially for how well it compliments with that lip color.

    1. Thanks! It's really does! It's just enough natural and just enough pink to not over power the red :) xx

  9. Kudos for doing full facial FOTD pix! I still am scared to put an image of my whole face up on my blog! I love this classic look, though I've never been able to pull red lipstick off. I KNOW every one says anyone can wear red, but 9 times out of 10 it turns fuschia on me (which I don't oppose), so now I do the same "look" with fuschia, instead. I'm super fair with pink undertones & when I started doing that other women I didn't know would come up to me to tell me how much I 'glowed' or how my makeup looked good. So, now I think I've given up on the red lips, but the good news is you can still do this classy look a little differently. Keep up that confidence, Girl!

P.S. Are you one of us rare US bloggers? I've been trying to find fellow BBloggers in Tennessee but don't know how to find them for meetups, etc.

    Xoxo!

    1. Haha, guilty of being one of those people that tells everyone that! But fuchsia is still such a gorgeous shade to wear and the fact that you can pull it off is amazing, cause I know that's one that some people cannot :) As long as you feel classy in it, you're classy! :D

I'm from New York, but yes, a US blogger! I don't think there are many of us out there which is so strange! Ask on #bbloggers, maybe you'll find someone! :D The closest I've gotten is Canada ;)
