BLOG SALE

Ah, blog sales. Where one blogger's trash becomes another's treasure. Well, that's not the case today with this blog sale because all the products here are ones I absolutely adore! Recently I've had a look at my credit card bill and it's not the most glorious looking of numbers. One of my resolutions for 2014 was to get my credit card bill down to $0 and then stop using it entirely. Spending money I don't have is far too easy, as it turns out. So in attempt to make this number go down (as my bi-weekly paycheck isn't cutting it at the moment) I've had a look through my make up stash and found some products I think some of you lovelies would love to get your hands on!

Blog Sale Rules
  • First come, first served (I'll keep this updated as often as I can!)
  • Please leave your e-mail address (along with the items you'd like) in the comments so that I can contact you with an invoice and give you the PayPal address to send the money to.
  • You must pay within 24 hours, or the products will go to someone else. Also, please mark your payment as a gift so PayPal doesn't take a fee from it :)
  • Shipping is $3 for each item and then $1 extra for each additional item in the US. If you buy a couple of products, I'll adjust accordingly. I'll ship to the UK, Europe, and Australia for $6.
  • If you're curious about swatches, everything here is 'google-able'. So please look up swatches if you're unsure of color because there will be no refunds (geez, that sounds harsh, haha!)
  • If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me :: themodmermaidx@gmail.com. I'll answer any questions you may have!
  • Other than that, happy browsing/shopping! :)

Weekend Wishlist #01

I've been in the city twice this week. Once, because I thought I was going over to Mihai's house and the second because of a dentist appointment. I was around M.A.C. and Sephora and I didn't buy anything *gasp My little sickness has put me in quite a level headed move, meaning I wanted it all but knew I didn't need it. So I decided I'd share with you what I had my eyes on!

1. NARS Smudgeproof Shadow Base
Urban Decay Primer Potion just isn't cutting it anymore!

2. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
I NEED THIS. The colors are so ... agh. I feel like I'd wear this more in the winter time so I figured I'd wait until then to get it (hopefully a Sephora coupon will come my way!)

3. Butter London Toff
Such a pretty purple color! At Ricky's NYC it was $15 and I thought that was just ridiculous when it's only $14. I know, I know it's only a $1 but every dollar counts!

4. Sephora & Pantone Universe Shades of Nature Palette
I adore the colors in this palette! All the shadows are gorgeous and silky smooth to the touch. The price is steep and it doesn't have the greatest application for that amount. I'm gonna wait for Sephora to knock the price down of it and then it's all mine!

5. Cover Girl 24HR. LashBlast
Oup, I lied. I did end up buying this! I needed a really good waterproof mascara :)

6. M.A.C. Blushes
I went in to get Fleur Power, couldn't find it. Found three amazing blushes that I am now dying to have and then found Fleur Power. I might be go next week to get a Blush Palette along with the giveaway winner's prize!

I know. I'm cuckoo bananas. It's just ever so tempting with all these awesome products out. I'm quite impatient and think if I can't buy it all now I'll wait till I can. Especially since next week is the release of  LUSH's Emotional Brilliance line (EEEEEEEK!). I know I'll just be snatching up pretty much everything.

What are on your wishlists? If you haven't enetered my giveaway yet, make sure to do so here!

NOTD | Nebula Nails

Are nebula nails relevant anymore? If not, then I have jumped on the bandwagon way to late. I was stumbling upon a ton of nail video son YouTube and their seemed to be a common theme of nebulas and space. My younger sister and cousin said this to me, and I quote "How very hipster of you..."I thought that was quite funny because then they also called them "tumblr nails". I really liked how this came out! It looks cooler in the sunlight and muddy in the shade (hence, why there is no shade picture, haha) Not your average "summer nail" but it's great nail art to do when you have a lot of time on your hands! Like me on this long weekend whilst watching Camp Rock. So cheesy!

Here are the colors I used:

  • Revlon ColorStay Base Coat
  • China Glaze Smoke & Ashes
  • Sephora by O.P.I. Mermaid to Order
  • Butter London Knackered
  • China Glaze Hook & Line
  • Color Club
  • Wet & Wild Shine 460D
  • Revlon ColorStay Top Coat
Have you ever tried out these nebula nails; recently or back when it was cooler? I'd love to see pictures!

Current Cravings | July Edition

  1. It's in the Flag Hair Clip from ModCloth ($12.99) | For this year's 4th of July I'm feeling extra patriotic to the point that my undies resemble the flag. When I saw this bow clip on ModCloth i just knew that I had to have it because I am a sucker for bows and collect them like no girl should. Maybe I should make a 'Bow Collection' post, haha! Hopefully I can get this before the 4th!
  2. Revlon ColorStay Lacquer (Minted) from Drugstores ($8.99) | Mint. It's a mint polish. I don't have one and this is the closest true to mint color I could find. A lot of other 'mint' named polishes lean a tad teal, and this one looks perfect! Mint is in and I want in!
  3. Sexy Hair Short Sexy Hair Slept In Creme | If you haven't seen yet, I've recently cut my hair sooper short! I'm trying to find different ways to style it because it is very curly and taming it might be a tad hard. I heard this creme creates awesome beachy-messy hair so I'd love to try it out!
  4. Through the Wire Headband in Red from ModCloth ($13.99) | Again, I'd love this to just throw my hair up in the summer time. I think it'd look really cute with my short hair! I also like how this headband looks like cloth but had a wire going through it so it stays in your hair better!
  5. Butter London Lacquer (No More Waitey, Katey and Frilly Knickers) from Ulta ($14.50) | I'm on such a nail polish kick these days and I'm absolutely in lust with the formula of the Butter London polishes. No More Waitey, Katey and Frilly Knickers are two that I want at the moment but that might change when I see some more in person!
  6. Tarte Light's, Camera, Splashes Mascara from Sephora ($19.00) | I have often heard that this particular mascara was named 'the best waterproof mascara'. In the summertime I usually like to wear just mascara and a little eyeliner. Except I'm always the one with raccoon eyes because my make up isn't waterproof. I'd really love to have this in the summer so I don't have to worry about it smudging and budging!
What are some of your current cravings for the month? Share them with me! As we all know my cravings are ever-growing!

Review: Butter London Knackered

with flash

I have only ever dreamed of owning a Butter London nail polish. Every time I would seem them in a Ricky's store I would hyperventilate right there in the middle of the aisle. At $14 a pop though, I never saw a color I would gladly give up lunch for. Until I saw Knackered. Knackered is an unexpected beautiful color! It's a silver/gray base with purple and green/blue duo chromes. On top of that it has super micro rainbow glitters in it which is just twenty cherries atop this brilliant sundae.

Aside from the color itself, I didn't actually believe Butter London would live up to its hype. The polish applies beautifully; no streaks, not to thick of a polish and the nail brush is just a work of magic. The color did not chip for about a week. Had it not been for my awful nail biting habit I can imagine it would have lasted a little while longer!

without flash/natural lighting

I would recommend this so, so, so highly to every one! It's such a unique color to have in your collection and I feel as though everyone needs it! I have seen other gray/purple-y duo chromey nail polishes, but with the formula and the micro glitters (that remove SO EASILY) I'd say this is the one you'll need!
